Karen Vermeulen, Family & Child Therapist

Hi, I'm Karen.

family & child therapist, Kimberley

I've always been drawn to children: the way they play, the way they draw, the way they tell you everything if you know how to listen. That's what I do every day.

I also work with adults, couples and families, because a child is never alone in their story. And as a trauma counsellor I've sat with people on some of their worst days.

My practice is nonprofit. I believe help shouldn't depend on what you can afford. I work in English and Afrikaans.

Questions people ask

Is it confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between us. The only exception is if someone's safety is at risk, and I'll always talk to you about that first.

Do you see young children?

Yes, from preschool age up to teenagers. Play is how the little ones talk to me.

Afrikaans?

Ja, natuurlik! Sessions are in English or Afrikaans, whichever feels more like home.

House or hospital visits?

Yes, by arrangement. Send me a message and we'll work it out.

What if I can't afford it?

Please still reach out. My practice is nonprofit, and support is available if you can't afford therapy.
